Changes in Regional Train Timetables
From Sunday 13 December 2020 the new railway timetable will come into effect, which will also change the timetables of the regional train lines within the IDS BK.
A major change will be the replacement of the operator RegioJet on the line S70 (Bratislava – Kvetoslavov). Train operator RegioJet operating regional trains on the railway line 131 (Bratislava – Dunajská Streda – Komárno) will be replaced from Sunday by the operator Železničná spoločnosť Slovensko (ZSSK). It will operate the train services in cooperation with the Austrian operator ÖBB. Nothing will change in the fare system, the new operator will accept all travel documents valid within the IDS BK. There are some changes to the train times since different types of trains with different performance abilities will be used. The extent of service will stay similar.
On the lines S55 (Bratislava-Nové Mesto – Trnava) and S65 (Bratislava-Petržalka – Senec) the last evening pair of services will be cancelled due to low demand. The saved kilometres were used to add three pairs of train services during weekends and bank holidays on the line S50 (Bratislava hlavná stanica – Trnava). This will secure a regular 60 minute interval between services throughout the whole days during weekends and bank holidays on the route Bratislava – Pezinok – Trnava.
The regular hourly departures after 7 PM on the line S50 in the direction from Bratislava hlavná stanica (Main railway station) will be changed from X:18 to X:30 minutes (half past the hour). This means, that all trains after 7 PM will depart the Main railway station 12 minutes later than they do the rest of the day. Thanks to this the departures after 7 PM will become regular.
The last important change coming into effect from 13 December 2020 will be, that the category REX train services will start stopping in Ivanka pri Dunaji.
The complete railway timetables valid from 13 December 2020 can be found on the webiste of the train operator ZSSK. The timetables of the S lines are available on our website www.idsbk.sk.
