You can also make a return journey as long as you are within the validity of your ticket. The validity in defined by a number or list of zones and by time. You can travel in the defined number of zones or in specified zones until the expiration of the time validity. They are advantageous if you travel only occasionally.
Day tickets
A Day ticket is the best choice if you are planning to make more than 3 journeys in one day.
Travelcards
A Travelcard is a prepaid travel ticket and it´s the best option for every day travel.

Baggage fare is for transporting larger baggage, a bicycle or a dog.
All types of tickets are valid in vehicles of all public transport operators integrated in the IDS BK.
When travelling within the city boundaries of Bratislava (zones 100 and 101) it is enough for you to watch the information about the time validity of your travel ticket, since all types of ticket are valid in the whole of Bratislava regardless of their zone validity.
When travelling around the Bratislava region you have to know the number of zones, or which zones you will be travelling through and how long will the planned journey last. You can find all the necessary information from the scheme of zones or from the timetable. If you travel more times through one zone during one journey it always counts only once. If you buy the ticket at the railway station or from a regional bus driver it is enough to know the name of the destination bus stop or railway station and the right ticket will be chosen automatically by the ticket selling system.
When travelling between Bratislava and the region you have to know the number of zones or which zones you will be travelling through. You can find all the necessary information from the scheme of zones or from the timetable. If you travel through one zone more times during one journey it always counts only once. If you buy the ticket at the railway station or from a regional bus driver it is enough to know the name of the destination bus stop or railway station and the right ticket will be chosen automatically by the ticket selling system.
Attention, the Bratislava zone 100 has a double price value. This means, that if you are travelling on a single ticket through zone 100, you have to count it twice in the final number of required zones.
The maximum number of zones is 10. If your journey is through more than 10 zones, buy a network ticket valid in all zones.
When travelling around Bratislava you can use the city public transport lines as well as trains of categories Os and REX and Slovak Lines regional buses. For your journey you can use all travel tickets valid in zones 100+101. In case you have a Travelcard for zones 100+101 and you want to travel occasionally to the region, you will pay only the fare for the additional regional zones.
In case you travel every day, it´s best for you to buy a Travelcard (prepaid travel ticket). First choose from the scheme of zones the ones through which you will be travelling regularly. For example, on a journey from Pezinok you have to go through zones 520, 510, 101 and 100. The price of the Travelcard depends on the number of zones and the time validity you buy it for. You can find all the details in section Travelcards.
Thanks to the zone-based fare system with through tickets you can change between regional lines as many times as you want as long as you are within the validity of the ticket. If you travel regularly, then it´s best for you to buy a Travelcard for the zones you use frequently.
Considering the size of zone 100 as well as the density of public transport lines offered there, it was necessary to take these facts into account in the final price of the travel ticket.
The solution of a double price value of zone 100 was inspired by other integrated transport systems, for example in Prague. You have to take the double price value of zone 100 rule into consideration when choosing the right single ticket. You do not need to worry about this exception while using the Travelcard.
The eWallet is a service thanks to which you can buy electronic travel tickets from a smart card. You need to have a smart card issued by either the regional bus operator Slovak Lines or the Bratislava city public transport operator Dopravný podnik Bratislava, or you can also use an ISIC card issued by a school or an university. Once you have the card with an active eWallet, it's enough to charge it with at least 5 Euros and you can easily use it for buying electronic travel tickets, on which you get a 10 % discount.
Smart cards issued by the railway company ZSSK and Bratislava City Cards are not compatible with the eWallet.
In the event you lose your smart card you should immediately contact the institution, which issued the card (transport operator, school or bank).
