Travelling in the Region

Occasional Travel

The price of the fare in the region depends on how many zones you travel through and on the length of time needed for the journey. You can easily identify the zones you will be travelling through in the scheme of zones or you can use the fare calculator on our website, which will tell you which ticket to use.

When buying a ticket at a ticket office at the railway station or from a driver in a regional bus, it is enough to know the name of the destination stop or zone. The sales system will calculate everything for you.

Everyday Travel

The best option for everyday travel is a Travelcard (prepaid travel ticket). Travelcards are sold only electronically on to an accepted smart card. You can use any smart card issued by a transport operator integrated in the IDS BK or an ISIC student card issued by high schools and universities and also you can use a Bratislava city card for Bratislava residents.

You can find the fare prices in the Price List or in the section dedicated to Travelcards. When looking up a ticket for a journey in the region or between the zone 101 and the region, look at the table giving the prices for a certain number of regional zones. When travelling between the inner city of Bratislava (zone 100) and the region, look at the table giving prices for the combination of zones 100+101+ a certain number of regional zones.
